IT’S been a busy week at the CID Stadium with three in and four out for Dumbarton this week.

Christian Nade and Stuart Carswell join on deals to the end of the season, with Lewis Vaughan in on loan from Raith Rovers for the same period.

Ryan Stevenson has moved to Raith, Joe Thomson to Queen of the South, Frazer Wright is set to link up with Stirling Albion and Craig Pettigrew has rejoined Stranraer.

And with Daniel Harvie extending his loan to the end of the season, Dumbarton manager Stevie Aitken was delighted to get a lot of business done early in the transfer window.

He said: “That was my whole intention We’ve got a disadvantage only having them for a few hours a week so we wanted to try and get them in early to get used to myself, the rest of the staff and the players.”

Celtic’s Joe Thomson moved to Championship rivals Queen of the South for the rest of the season and the Sons boss was disappointed not to retain his services.

He added:“He’s done great. We’re delighted how he’s got on but unfortunately he’s not our player and we couldn’t do too much about it”

In to replace Thomson is Carswell, who joins after a

It could lbe touch and go whether his international clearance omes through before tomorrow’s game against Morton, but it should be sorted in time for their game against Hibernian next week.

The 23-year-old played for St Mirren last season and Aitken revealed he tried to sign the former Motherwell youth player in the summer.

The Sons boss said: “He was one of the first ones I tried to sign. We tried to get a deal with him for two or three weeks, but the team from Iceland came in and he wanted to try and play abroad. We were aware that he was back and he’s been training with us for the last few weeks and looked really good.”

Ex-Hearts man Stevenson moved to Raith, where former Jambos player Gary Locke is manager

Aitken said: The opportunity came up to go back full-time with Raith and I didn’t want to stand in the player’s way so we wish him well"

Coming the other way on loan is 21-year-old Vaughan and Aitken said: “When we were informed he had become available we jumped at it.

“The boy is a special talent. He’s had a bit of an injury this year but before that clubs in England were looking at him.

“Gary Locke thinks he just needs to get out and get more games and we’re delighted he’s coming to us.”

Wright has left the club and the 36-year-old is most likely to be reunited with former St Johnstone teammate Dave Mackay, who is manager at The Binos.

Aitken added: “Frazer’s had a tough time with injuries,. He’ll go and do coaching with Stirling Albion. It’s a good opportunity for him and he’s been terrific for us, especially last season when he was outstanding.

“But this year he’s struggled as he’s been injured at the wrong times, and with the form of Darren Barr and Gregor Buchanan his game time has been restricted.”

Harvie has extended his loan deal, with Nade also returning to the Rock after a spell with the club last season.

The Dumbarton manager said: “Aberdeen have been delighted with how Daniel’s getting on. I think he’s got a big future in the game

“Nade was terrific last year and gave us that wee bit extra that helped keep us in the division. If he can show the form last season I think he’ll be another good signing.” After Wright’s departureAitken is looking to sign a defender and hopes to bring someone in before the end of next week.

Donald McCallum is likely to head out on loan. The Sons academy product has not featured in recent weeks and the manager is hoping he can get some games under his belt.
