HELENSBURGH Amateur Swimming Club's young competitors were out in force at the M&B Winter Graded meet in Drumchapel recently, with seven swimmers bringing back medals.
There was a great turnout with 18 swimmers from the club taking part.
New personal best times were set over 43 events, with seven swimmers securing personal best times across all of their events and 16 securing a personal best times in at least one event.
Emily Miller, swimming in the 14-16 age group, excelled over the weekend, securing personal best times in her four events, winning three gold medals overall after taking first place in the 100m breaststroke and in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
Jake Miller, in the 14-16 age group, also secured personal best times in his two events with a massive PB of 46.15 seconds in the 200m butterfly securing him a gold medal.
Jake secured another gold in the 200m freestyle.
Robert Humphries secured a silver medal in the 100m backstroke, and Kirsty Trail secured a bronze in the 100m individual medley along with a very respectable PB.
Kirsty also narrowly missed two further bronze medals, having to settle for fourth places in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly.
This was an excellent return to competitive swimming for Kirsty after being away for several months due to injury.
Aside from the medal winners, swimmers showing significant improvement and securing personal best times across all events were Cameron and Ross Carmichael, Mikey Miller and Rachael Stewart.
Swimmers securing notable PBs were Sandy Barbour with a 7.73 second improvement in the 50m breaststroke, Finlay Martin with a 9.61 second improvement in the 100m freestyle, Ethan Parsons with a whopping 12.51 second improvement in the 100m freestyle and Rachael Stewart with a fantastic12.00 seconds improvement in the 100m individual medley.
