Helensburgh Amateur Swimming club swimmer Jon Law recently competed at the British Para Swimming International meet at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Jon was one of a team of 25 swimmers taken by Scottish Swimming to the event. The meet is the highlight of the domestic para swimming events calendar and attracted teams from all over the world.

Jon did well to qualify for the meet, the results of which would determine who would be British Champion.

Jon swam in the 50m freestyle, 200m individual medley and the 100m butterfly. First up was the 50m freestyle in which Jon swam strongly securing a place in the final where he finished in a speedy 27.93s.

Next up was the 200m individual medley where he finished in 2.38.43s securing a personal best time.

He finished with the 100m butterfly touching the wall in a time of 1.07.93s with another personal best time. A fantastic performance which he is sure to improve upon in the years to come as he will be joining the Scottish disability squad at Stirling University in the autumn.
