The Boys 14 years and under team welcomed Hamilton at the weekend in their second match of the season.

The tie was made a bit easier as Hamilton had a late call off and sent just three players which meant the fourth singles and second doubles was already conceded.

Nevertheless the boys still had to win all the other ties and Helensburgh number one Andrew Wilson made short work of his opponent winning 6–2, 6–0.

Ciaran Hoskins at number two was similarly dominant and came through 6–2, 6–3. In the doubles the boys took the opening set 6–2 but had to fight to win the second as Hamilton refused to give up.

In the end the consistency of Andrew and Ciaran proved the deciding factor and they won 7–5.

Conor Niblock at number three came up against a hard hitting opponent and couldn’t find the shots to beat him and lost 0–2.

Meanwhile on court three, 12-year-old Andrew Wilson and 17-year-old Ross Hamilton outplayed their opponents, winning 6–3, 6–3, 6–4. Ross recently successfully gained his level two tennis coaching certificate and is looking forward to taking some classes over the summer and gaining more experience.
