The Finals of the Dumbartonshire Bowling Association Championship were held at Killermont BC on Saturday 1st July.
The West of the County completed a win in all of the Competitions on the day over their East County opponents.
Helensburgh BC were the victors in the Triples Championship when the Triple of Ed Claisse, Andrew Sneddon and Alan Air (Skip) were the victors against their east opponents from Condorrat BC. The Helensburgh triple started slowly and were behind in the game until the 12th end where they scored 5 shots and followed this with a further 3 in the 13th end and went on secure a magnificent victory by 17 shots to 15.
Other local clubs also had magnificent victories for the West of the County in that
Peter Walker & David Ferguson Cove and Kilcreggan BC comfortably defeated George & William Gregory from Woodilee BC in the Pairs Championship.
Paul Dolan, Alan Fleming, Mark Smith and Alan Roy Jnr Garelochhead BC defeated Gary Millington, David Watson, Gordon McLeod and Gordon Strang Kirkintilloch BC in the Fours Championship
Other West side winners in the Championship finals were
Richard O’Malley Renton BC defeated Chris Duncan Dalmuir BC in the Junior Singles Championship
George Lunan Renton BC defeated Grant Greenhorn Westerton BC in the Singles Championship
Jim Irwin. MBE, Gordon McIntyre, Alistair Rae and Stewart Banks Dumbarton BC defeated D. De Laet, S, Harland, J Murphy and J. Jamieson Greenfaulds BC in the Senior Fours Championship
