HELENSBURGH netball players took part in a recent event aiming to promote more people to take up the sport recreationally.
Helensburgh Holly Berries were involved in the Netball Scotland Christmas Tournament, with the event being held at Clydebank Leisure Centre. The team took part in nine games across the day, with no official scoring to allow each team to showcase their best netball.
Helensburgh’s team on the day included captain Emma Wright, Janet Hogg, Belinda Ruthven, Niamh Collins, Lynda Bance, Lisa Fowler, Diane Jones and Jess Halifax, who also took home the accolade of Player of the Tournament.
The event was held as part of the ‘Bounce Back to Netball’ initiative, which hopes to get people of all ages to ‘have a go’ and hopefully grow the game at all levels in the future.
