HELENSBURGH Amateur Athletics Club’s under-17 boys’ team will compete at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow this Saturday in the finals of the Scottish Athletics Indoor League.

After battling over three rounds of competitions over the winter months, covering a wide range of indoor events including short and long distance runs, long jump, high jump and shot putt, the boys’ team of Chris Wilson, Josh Bain, Ewan Robb, Finn Burden and Bryn Davies finished in second place in their league.

This was a fantastic achievement when up against over 12 other clubs from all over Scotland.

The boys will face stiff competition in the final as the best athletes from two leagues come together but, given their training routines, ability and determination, they could be capable of achieving a medal position if all goes according to form in the finals.

As the indoor season comes to a close, HAAC will also field teams from across the age groups, from U11 to U20, in a 4x200m relay competition held on the same day.

Away from the competition sphere, HAAC will be running an athletics holiday camp – a week of fun, fitness and athletic development – from April 2-6 at Hermitage Academy.

This is open to anyone aged 8-13 and will take place from April 2-6 at Hermitage Academy. To sign up, or for more information, please contact haacheadcoach@gmail.com.
