HELENSBURGH Athletic Club members rounded off the Polaroid Eyewear 10K Road Race series by picking up yet more prizes at the final race in the Vale of Leven.
The Vale route comprises a long hill through Balloch Park which negated the otherwise near-perfect running conditions.
Julia Henderson"s time of 39.34, though well short of her best, nonetheless marked a return to better racing form, pleasing her almost as much as the rewards that came with it. The Vale race doubled as the Scottish Championship event and Julia earned the silver medal in the Women"s Masters category. It is also a qualifying event in Scottish Athletics Stewarts Grand Prix Series and the points earned should retain her current third place in the rankings. Julia led the ladies to the third place prizes in the women"s team event, backed up by Claire Heasman, 42.27 and Debbie Savage, 44.13.
Paul Thompson completed a hat-trick of wins in the V50 Category, having been victorious in Clydebank and Dumbarton, finishing 19th in 35:54 while Jan Fellowes made it a family double taking second prize in her V50 category in 45:32.
