Rosneath 3 Port Glasgow Thistle 1

DESPITE an important bottom of the table clash, manager Blenkinsop once more struggled to field a team.

He had to resort to calling upon two veterans in the shape of Scott Fleming and Alan Campbell, but this turned out to be a good move as the vets combined to clinch the game for the home side.

With the park resembling a muddy field, it was no surprise the game started scrappy with neither side able to get the ball down and play football.

The ball spent most of its time in the air, but Port used their superior physicality to enjoy the bulk of early possession.

But when Rosneath finally started to play some football, they took the lead.

Firstly Scott McNee gave an indication of what was to come with a fine run from midfield before his shot was saved by the keeper.

Then Paul McAlpine"s through ball had Ross Dillon in on goal and although his shot was blocked, it fell kindly to McNee who placed the ball into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
