Stirling Uni 2 Rhu Amts 2
THE matches continue to come thick and fast for Rhu as they aim to cement their Division One status.
A 4-2 loss to Glasgow Uni last midweek, with goals from Tadlock and Dougie Black had not disheartened the peninsula players.
And on their travels again, they faced Stirling Uni on Saturday on an astro-turf pitch.
Both teams struggled early on to adapt to the surface with passes going astray and it was Stirling who took the lead after 25 minutes when their midfield player slammed the ball home from the edge of the box with the Rhu defence failing to close him down.
There was no further scoring in a disappointing first half.
After some strong words at the break, Rhu"s performance improved as they closed down their opponents.
They got a deserved equaliser on 65 minutes when Scullion"s back healer deceived the home keeper and found the corner of the net.
Rhu"s lead did not last long as five minutes later, Stirling"s striker broke through and fired home to restore their one goal advantage.
It was a struggle for Rhu now, but they forced their way back in to the game and got a deserved equaliser when Davie Falconer headed home a cross from the left. It finished with Rhu happy to collect the point.
Rhu: Heron, MacDonald, McMillan, Brodie, Miller, Scullion, Porter, Gibson, Black, Tadlock and Falconer. Subs: Potter and Wallace.
As trio of home ties are in the offing. Rhu played Stirling Uni last night (Wednesday).
They face Symington Rovers at home on Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm then Muirend next Wednesday, kick-off 6.45pm.
