Challenge match this weekend
Football
This year's challenge match between Ardencaple Boys Club and Helensburgh FC takes place on Sunday, August 30 at the Hermitage Academy third Generation Astro Turf Pitch.
With both clubs back in training for a few weeks, all the players will be keen to play some competitive football before the season starts the following week.
David Cambell will be representing the Rotary Club to present the John McGinley Trophy to the club which wins most matches on the day.
The trophy was put up by the Rotary Club to recognise all the work John did in the community
before his untimely death.
Ardencaple currently run teams from eight year-olds to 16 year-olds.They also have training groups for five and six year-olds and are looking for players born in 2002, 2000 and 1999 to play seven-a-side football.
The team are also on the lookout for players born in 1996 and 1997 to play 11-a-side football.
