The first evening of the tournament saw two pools of four teams each playing in a round robin format.

Pool A consisted of Cardross, Hermitage, Lomond and the newly formed All‘;Stars team.

Hermitage led the way with two wins and a draw to top the table with Cardross just behind on five points. The All‘;Stars and Lomond finished third and fourth respectively.

Pool B saw some excellent football played by Colgrain who dominated and came top with a 100% record on nine points with Rosneath in second spot followed by Rhu and St Josephs Primary.

Following the conclusion of the pool matches the top two teams from each section came together to contest the cup with teams finishing in third and fourth place meeting in the plate competition.

The second evening always provides some mouth-watering clashes and usually far closer matches. This year was no exception with some committed and skilful football on display.

In the Plate Competition the newly formed All‘;Stars team continued to play well together and ended up clear winners.

The battle for runners‘;up however was very close with all teams ending on the same points. It was Rhu who eventually prevailed courtesy of scoring an extra goal on the night.

In the cup section last year’s winners Cardross Primary struggled to find the same kind of form that saw them finish top in 2013.

Colgrain Primary showed great consistency and played some fantastic football, sweeping aside all challengers to remain unbeaten over the two evenings and take the Active Schools/ Ardencaple Cup 2014.

Hermitage Primary performed well throughout the competition to take the runners‘;up slot with Rosneath also putting in some strong performance this year.
