The article told of Dumbarton’s player of the year the previous season, Kenny Ashwood, being placed on the transfer list.
The striker asked for a move after he was dropped for the team’s trip to Dundee United three weeks previous, the Dumbarton management eventually agreed to listen to offers for him.
Sons had gained promotion to the Premier League the previous year when Ashwood had starred however he had failed to find the same form in the top division.
Ashwood arrived at Boghead in a swap deal which saw David Stevenson move to Falkirk.
