CARDROSS Golf Club held their Mixed Open Greensomes last Sunday, the weather was kind to the 60 couples resulting in some good scoring on the day.

Winners of the scratch prize and the Pediaini Memorial Trophy were home couple, Iain and Lorraine Campbell, with the excellent gross score of 73.

The first handicap prize, the R.S. Currie Rosebowl, was won by Peter and June Haggarty of Helensburgh. They scored 41 stableford points, just one more than several other couples who had to be separated by a count back.

This meant the second handicap prize being won by William Ross and Rona Agnew from Dumbarton, while in third place were Julian and Lynne MacDonald of Cardross and fourth were George and Lynne Gow from Milngavie.

The competition coincided with the last weekend at the club for their caterer, Joe Millan. Joe and his family have served the club well over the past six years and he was thanked by club vice-captain, Andy O’Connor.

The club’s ladies team has also had some recent success, reaching the eighth round of the Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic last Saturday.

Vicky captained the team to victory last Saturday. They now play Muckart Ladies for a place in the quarter finals.
