Helensburgh Golf Club held a Prostate Cancer Scramble tournament recently in aid of club captain Murray Waddell’s chosen charity for the year.

Twenty-one teams of four took part in the event, and raffle ticket sales and donations helped raise £1,132 for the cause.

The winning team, with a net score of 52.1, were Sandy and Shona Bulloch with Steve and Denise Donald.

In a close second, with 53.5, were Phil Armstrong/Dave Tolhurst and Jack and Ben Armstrong.

In third place, scoring 53.7, was Shey Donald/Terry Smith and Neil Sloan/Bill MacDonald.

In a closely contested round of the Tennents Winter League at Helensburgh Golf Club on Sunday, Calum Kennedy and Scott Kennedy emerged as the week five winners, on countback, to take the hampers with 43 stableford points.

In second place were Ian Harrington and Graham Thorley .

Three pairs of players achieved 42 points on the day – Andy Donald and David Kick, Charles Barbour and Danny Lafferty, and Jamie Francis and Ray Ford –with Francis and Ford picking up the third place on countback.
