A medal win for young golfers

EmailDouglas Park Golf Club was the venue on July 6 and 7 with excellent rounds of 72 and 70 (142) securing the title for David Parlane from Helensburgh Golf Club.
The 2007 champion was followed closely by Richard Docherty (Bearsden GC) with a score of 143, a tally equalled by last year"s winner Fraser Mc Kenna (Balmore GC) but Richard took the runner-up prize thanks to his better second round.
First round scratch prizes went to S Gibson and T Sharkey (both Helensburgh GC) and F McKenna (Balmore GC).
Handicap prize winners were: Under 14 - O McPhee (Windyhill GC), runner-up L McCarron (Windyhill GC), Aged 15 winner - D. Currie (Douglas Park GC) and in second place I McGill (Clober GC), 16 to 18 age group winner - G Campbell (Lenzie GC, runner-up was C Hart (Douglas Park GC)
