Reviewing the scoring it was obvious that some had been diligently working on their game as the winning score of 29 points was submitted by Robert Dunbar, an improvement of 10 points since last week.

Second place required the count-back formula to be applied with Michael Stephen just edging out Bill McKiernan on 26 points. Michael’s score last week was nine, so he improved by 17 points.

With one week to go, a number of players finally made their mark on the competition leaderboard but couldn’t shake Dougie Singleton off top spot. Dougie returned a credible 22 points this week to improve his average score by 1.17 to 21.5 points. Robert Dunbar’s excellent score earned him current second place a half point behind Dougie on 21 points.

Saturday saw Fraser Hall resume the 11 hole stableford. With 60 entrants, it would be fair to say a good many of the members were delighted to be on the course again after the recent snow stopped play for a couple of weeks. Congratulations to Bob Berry who, normally plays off 17 but this week playing off three quarters handicap, took first place with 24 points.

Eddie Sommerville, in form at the moment and likely to soon catch the evil eye of the Handicap Secretary, came a close second with 23 points. Andy Donald and Roy Nesbitt shared third place with 22 points. Well done to all of them and long may the better weather continue.
