Stirling Uni 1

Caledonian Division One

RHU entertained Stirling Uni last Wednesday (April 22) and found themselves a goal down after just two minutes.

The visitors number nine ran through unchallenged and fired home.

A shocked Rhu team gradually got their act together and got back on level terms after 15 minutes when Patrick Scullion hit home a cracker from the edge of the box with his left foot after a Davie Phillips cross from the right.

Rhu were on top now and they went ahead when Davie Falconer ran on to a Tadlock pass, lifting the ball over the advancing keeper. It was no surprise when Rhu went further ahead as Falconer ran on to Scullion"s through ball and found the back of the net.

After a poor start Rhu had come back well, but the second half was to be a different story.

Stirling asked questions of Rhu"s defence and they answered most, and while the uni side did pull a goal back, Rhu stood firm to collect the three points.

Rhu: Heron, MacDonald, Potter, Brodie, McMillan, Phillips, Gibson, Scullion, Tadlock, Falconer and Wallace. Subs: Sinclair and Stillwell.

Rhu Amts 5 Symington 0

Caledonian Division One

AFTER Wednesday"s win against Stirling, Rhu produced another strong performance, overpowering Symington with a second half goal spree.

On a warm afternoon, Rhu were in control of the game early on but Symington were sitting and making things difficult.

With 15 minutes of a frustrating half left, Rhu eventually broke the deadlock when Tadlock finished off a move between Gibson and Phillips.

Despite being in the charge of the game Rhu went in at the break only one up.

But they were to completely dominate the second half and got their second goal early on when Wallace tapped the ball home at the back post after the visiting keeper fumbled a cross.

Shortly after, Rhu went three up from the spot, Davie Falconer giving the keeper no chance.

He then put Rhu four up and completed his hat trick, running on to a Scullion through ball to make it five.

Rhu: Heron, MacDonald, McMillan, Brodie, Miller, Phillips, Gibson, Scullion, Tadlock, Falconer and Wallace. Subs: Sinclair, Ballantyne, Black and Stillwell.

 Rhu played Muirend last night and are at home to Cambusbarron Rovers this Saturday before an away trip to play St Mungo"s next Wednesday.
