Burgh players' prize night
HELENSBURGH FC held their end of season development presentation night last Saturday.
This season the development teams have been part of a ground-breaking initiative organised by the great and good of Scottish Football by playing from March to November.
This initiative is to help the development of young players without the need for them to play in the worst of conditions that winter normally throws at them.
Also included in the night were the children from the clubs junior section.
The night, held at the Commodore Hotel, was a family affair and a large crowd were entertained for the first part by Bubbles the clown, who kept the kids, both young and old, enthralled with his stories and magic tricks.
After the buffet was completed the presentation to the teams commenced with Dumbarton FC captain, Paul Nugent, on hand to present the medals to all the kids.
As is the ethos within the club all the boys and girls received the same medal/trophy.
Following on from the presentation a family disco was laid on for everyone to show their moves on the dance floor.
The teams are now in their winter break although continue at training to hone their skills for the new season ahead.
Vacancies are available at all age groups.
If you would be interested in coming along please contact the club through the club website at www.helensburghfc.co.uk.
The club would like to thank the following people and groups for their support throughout the season and for the evening itself.
R Patterson and staff of the Commodore Hotel, S Maule for the disco and Bubbles for the entertainment. A big than to Paul Nugent who appeared at the night despite having played for his club in Cowdenbeath earlier in the day.
