The British number one and Dutchman Tom Egberink face top seeds and defending champions Stephane Houdet of France and Shingo Kunieda of Japan in the men’s wheelchair tennis doubles semi-finals at The Championships.

It’s the second successive year that Reid will have Houdet and Kuneida on the opposite side of the net in the semi-finals.

Reid makes his fourth appearance at Wimbledon after making his debut in 2008 and renews a partnership with Egberink that started in 2009.

The duo’s last tournament together was at the 2013 French Open Super Series last June, where they reached the semi-finals before bowing out to Houdet and Kunieda in the semi-finals.

Looking ahead to the tournament, Reid said: “Either draw we would have had this year would have been tough, as both seeded partnerships are previous champions at Wimbledon.

“But Tom was also in the winning pairing in 2012 and we are both in good form and are great friends, so I'm looking forward to competing with him on the grass at SW19.

“I think we have a great chance to take the title if we play well and we will be trying our best to make that happen.” Reid is one of three Brits on the Tennis Foundation’s Wheelchair Tennis Performance Programme contesting either the men’s or women’s doubles at The Championships.

Reid’s last tournament before Wimbledon was at this year’s French Open Super Series, where the world number three ranked singles and world number four ranked doubles player was a runner-up in the men’s doubles on Saturday, teaming up with another Dutchman, Maikel Scheffers, who Reid partnered at The Championships in 2013. Houdet and Kunieda also ended the French tournament as champions.

Earlier in the week in France Reid beat Egberink to reach the men’s singles quarter-finals and then recovered from a set and 4-1 down to defeat world number six Scheffers 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-finals.

Reid then put up a fine effort as he attempted to beat world number two Houdet for the fourth time, but the Frenchman prevailed 7-5, 6-4.
