Reid had long-since ensured his place in the elite field of eight men’s players for the year-end singles championship before the qualifiers were confirmed last week by the International Tennis Federation, shortly after Reid had retained his men’s singles title at the ITF 1 Series Open de la Baie de Somme in France.

The world No. 3 is among three Brits on the Tennis Foundation’s Wheelchair Tennis Performance Programme set to return to the venue that hosted the London 2012 Paralympic Games and Reid hopes that the support that he and his fellow Brits received during London 2012 will once again spur them on to success at the NEC Masters.

He said: “London 2012 was brilliant, there were so many British supporters on the show courts when I was playing and I had a large band of friends and family down to cheer me on too, so to have that kind of support again would be incredible.

With the Masters being in November we will be indoors, so hopefully the atmosphere and support will be even louder and I can’t wait,” Reid will be contesting the year-end showdown for the third successive year.

He is also set return to Mission Viejo, California, the venue for last year’s NEC Masters, when he bids to retain his men’s title at the this UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters at the beginning of November.

After partnering Stephane Houdet to victory in Mission Viejo last year, Reid teams up with another Frenchman this year as he and Michael Jeremiasz attempt to enhance an impressive record which includes reaching the finals of all five tournaments they have played together, winning three of them.
