Kingston Sprints took place at Larkhall Leisure Centre with 12 of the bronze and silver swimmers taking part. Swimmers that took part in the meet were: Millie Armstrong-Sheen, Lauren Hughes, Rachael Hughes, Rebekah Jackson, Roisin Kavanah, Ewan McCartney, Eilidh McQueen, Emily Miller, Joel Miller, Peter Swigciski, Pippa Swigciski and Kirsty Trail.

There were plenty of personal best times and medals achieved over the course of the day with some notable achievements from some of the younger swimmers.

Twins Lauren and Rachael Hughes were both entered into four events and each achieved three personal bests over the day. In the 50m butterfly Rachael took 14.72 seconds off and Lauren took off a whopping 18.56 seconds.

Roisin Kavanagh was entered into the 25m butterfly and took first place with a new time of 19.98 seconds, a great achievement for her first timed race in this event.

Eilidh McQueen took off 5.12 seconds in the 100m butterfly, again showing real improvement in this stroke. Ewan McCartney took third place in the 25m butterfly and finished in sixth place in both the 25m backstroke and freestyle.

Millie Armstrong-Sheen took fifth place in the 25m backstroke with a 3.79 second personal best and Joel Miller took fifth place in the 50m freestyle event with a 1.77 second personal best.

Peter Swigciski took first place in the 50m butterfly and sixth place in the 50m freestyle event.

Kirsty Trail was entered into four events and managed to attain three first places in the 25m freestyle, backstroke and butterfly showing that all the hard work and early training sessions have definitely paid off for this young swimmer.

Again, a great day of swimming was achieved for both the bronze and silver club swimmers.

The same weekend the silver elite and gold squads also had 12 swimmers representing them at Ren96 Open Meet at the Onyx in Linwood.

This was a meet that had swimmers from across Scotland competing. Swimmers taking part were Charlotte Caskie, Gail Craig, Rachel Fraser, Angus Gilmour, Marcus Hills, Robert Humphries, Alex Johnson, Jon Law, Alex MacFarlane, Stephen MacFarlane, Emily Miller and Jake Miller.

Again there were some great swims over the course of the weekend, with plenty of personal bests achieved and some medals also. Marcus Hills took sixth place in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke after qualifying for both strokes in the preliminary heats.

He also broke three club records in the 200m breaststroke and freestyle and the 100m butterfly in the 16 and over age group, two of the records which had stood since 2002 in the butterfly and 2003 in the butterfly.

Marcus achieved six personal best times out of the seven races he swam in, showing a real improvement across the strokes.

Angus Gilmour took part on the first day of the event and managed to achieve a second place finish in the 200m individual medley with a 7.92 second personal best, he then went on to take joint first place in the 50m freestyle after qualifying for the finals.

He won in a time of 31.31 seconds. Angus then took fourth place in 100m backstroke after qualifying for the final in this event.

He also achieved personal best times in all events he swam in. Alex Johnson qualified for the finals in two events finishing in sixth place in the 200m individual medley and fifth place in the 200m freestyle taking 8.42 seconds off his personal best time. Alex also manage to achieve six personal best times in the seven events he swam in.

Stephen MacFarlane was entered in the 100m breaststroke and took third place in this event.

The four swimmers, swam well across the age groups and achieved some excellent results.

Jake Miller performed consistently over the weekend also, achieving good personal best times over the event and finished 7th in the 200m breaststroke.
