The squad knew that this was going to be a tough game with Broomhill having a reputation as being one of the top clubs in the country.

The team started strong — scoring their first centre pass and then breaking and converting Broomhill’s centre pass, taking an early 2-0 lead.

However, a few unforced errors from Team Pressure allowed Broomhill back into the game and they soon equalised.

The second and third quarters followed a similar pattern with G84 taking the lead on numerous occasions. But with more unforced errors allowing Broomhill to equalise at the end of the third quarter taking the score to 19-19.

The final quarter saw Team Pressure improve the quality and increase the intensity of their play.

Some fantastic defensive work from Anne Young, Rona Wilson and Lydia Porter-Smith resulted in numerous interceptions and conversions, allowing the team to take a 10 goal lead with three minutes to go.

Mhairi Cromar and Mackenzie Serpell linked well together to bring the ball up to the circle edge and provide quality feeds to Abbie Murray and Eleanor Young — who worked tirelessly against the physical Broomhill defence to score 10 goals in the quarter. The final score being 29-22 to Team Pressure.

The first round stages are regionalised with G84 being drawn against Broomhill, Paisley and Bellahouston, the top team from the group will progress to the quarter final stages of the competition.
