In atrocious weather conditions, Loch Lomond pushed forward in numbers right from the start and kept Dalziel pinned in their own D for most of the first half.

Loch Lomond were awarded a penalty flick early on when a Dalziel defender stopped a shot on the line with her foot.

Rosie McColgan expertly converted the flick to put Loch Lomond one up. With the pressure all being mainly contained in the Dalziel half the home team were able to fire in four more goals before the half time whistle courtesy of some great link play that cut the Dalziel defence apart at times.

Goals were scored by Sarah S.Rijsdijk, Kim McCallion and another two goals from McColgan saw the half time score boosted to 5-0 even though another penalty flick was not converted this time just before the half time whistle sounded.

Loch Lomond wanted to capitalise on their first half display of possession and skill and were 6-0 up after only a couple of minutes of the second half, when Morven Rowan converted from an acute angle.

McColgan scored a cracking goal from a very controlled back-stick flick and shortly afterwards Kirsten Bruce scored from the edge of the D.

The Dalziel defence were working their socks off but Loch Lomond came at them in waves and, despite some good saves by their keeper, Loch Lomond notched up another three goals scored by Rowan and McCallion again and Caoimhe Cuthbertson.

Dalziel did manage to secure a couple of penalty corners in this half but the Loch Lomond defence cleared their lines when required.

All credit to the midfield and strikers for great team work and for keeping their focus and hunger to score in this half.

Despite the terrible weather conditions Loch Lomond were able to run up 11 goals in total to keep them at the top of the league at this halfway point.

Player of the match was awarded to Rosie McColgan and runner up was Jessie Cuthbertson for her dogged determination and tireless running.
