A dozen representatives from six primary schools attended a session led by Tim Hart from Cricket Scotland. The teachers were shown a variety of cricket based games suitable for players of all standards and abilities and at the end of the evening each school was given a Kwik Cricket set by the club for use in the school.
Colin Neill, president of Cricket Scotland, also attended to lend his support and he was clearly delighted, he said: “It’s great to see such enthusiasm and interest from the schools and the club. Kwik Cricket is a great way for youngsters to get involved, the game is safe, quick and lots of fun which is what it’s all about” The club will be holding a Kwik Cricket tournament for the local primary schools in the summer term, but in the meantime any youngsters interested in playing are welcome.
