MORE than 50 golfers took part in Helensburgh Golf Club"s penultimate 11 hole competition of the winter season.
The high numbers could be down to the milder weather or simply the urge to take on the challenge of the links after weeks of inactivity.
The honours in the Canadian Greensome format went to John Sharp and Alan Walker with 32 points.
They finished two points ahead of Tim Hughes and Don Griffin with Alan Robinson and John Fugler in third place.
They also had 30 points but lost out on a countback.
