With a host of international stars competing in the tournament at Ardencaple on May 31, Sloan is set to line up in the star studded England Rugby for Heroes team, alongside a host of former international players as well as a number of current top players. Sloan will take to the Ardencaple turf alongside current Newport Gwent Dragons prop Duncan Bell and Racing Metro full back Dan Scarborough as well as former England stars Duncan Bell, Peter Richards, Sam Vesty and former Great Britain rugby league star Sean Long.

After confirming he was to play in the tournament Sloan said: “I am really looking forward to it.

“I can’t believe how big the tournament has become and the number of international and former professional players coming is brilliant.

“It is a massive event for the whole town and playing up against and alongside these players really will be a great honour.

“It has been really well organised and hopefully we can get the tournament back in Helensburgh again.” The English team are raising money for the Rugby for Heroes charity and Sloan is set to take on a number of fundraisers, starting this Saturday with a fundraising evening at Helensburgh Rugby Club after the first and second team play their matches at Ardencaple.

The Rugby For Heroes team is made up of ex-England players, England A and Saxon players as well as a host of top former Gloucester, Bath and Bristol players.
