RHU marina hosted this year"s Odyssey Winter Series for RC Lasers.

Hotly contested until the end, racing was held every weekend from November to March.

A total of 104 races took place in varied testing conditions throughout the cold winter and it is testament to the sailors 12 stalwarts regularly turned out to give good close racing.

Iain Duncan battled with adversary John Mason to the bitter end and racing was so close an extra audit was carried out to ascertain Iain was the victor by the closest ever margin - just two points.

Iain"s victory was well deserved as he was the driving force behind RC Laser racing at Rhu and also founder of the Rhu Radio Lasers.

John"s performance was most noteworthy as this was his first Odyssey Winter Series.

The leading duo did not have it all their own way with all of the competitors enjoying race wins and glory days.

In the battle for third and fourth, Douglas Sammon pipped Ron Wyper while John Paterson was fifth.

The increased level of competition has raised the game for all and should put the Rhu Radio Lasers in good stead when they next meet their rivals Ayr Bay.
