CARDROSS fiddler Ryan Young will perform at the last ‘Famous Four O’Clock’ event of the year at the Mackintosh Club in Helensburgh this Friday, December 22.

The concert runs from 4-6pm at the Mackintosh Club in Sinclair Street.

Entry (£10) includes a complimentary glass of bubbles.

Ryan said: “It was actually a friend of mine, a fiddle player called Fiona Collins who lives around the corner in Cardross who recommended it to me.

“She has played there and knows the lady who runs it and suggested asking me to play.

“I was delighted to be asked! It’s always scary to play to a local crowd, but it’s also a real honour to be asked to play locally.

“It’s not very often I get to play unaccompanied, so I’m looking forward to that as something a little different.

“Since the launch of my CD, this will be the first local sort of gig I’ve had to promote it and I’m really excited about that.”

Ryan's self-titled debut album was released earlier this year, and just last month it was nominated for the 'album of the year' prize at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.
