David Watt will pedal from Glasgow to Edinburgh in the Pedal for Life Cycle on September 7.

The Craigrownie Park Group is fundraising to reach a £100,000 target to put the ‘heart’ back into the Cove Park by restoring the outdoor community space for all.

The vision for the park is to create a multi-generational meeting place for young and old in the community.

And David is raising money to help the group reach their target amount and ensure his three-year-old daughter Cara has a nice place to play.

He told the Advertiser: “The group have such a high target and I wanted to try and do my bit to raise money.

“I will be in the Cove Burgh Hall this weekend at the country fayre on an exercise bike to collect donations and help train.

“I have been trying to get out when I can, I have only really done 15 miles at the one time so 47 will be a challenge.” Cove Burgh Hall will be bustling from 1-4pm on Sunday, August 31 as the country fayre gets underway, with face painting, a kidszone, gifts, home baking and local produce.

The group have planned several fundraising events throughout the year to raise money, and Alan Reid MP, also supports the refurbishment project.

The needs of children of all ages and abilities will be taken into account when choosing the play equipment, and the group has already asked pupils from Kilcreggan Primary and nursery to draw their ideas for the park.
