On behalf of the club, Professor Deans presented a cheque for £100 to head teacher Mrs Gwen Gilmour to augment school funds.
He said: “I was delighted to bring the gift, and also to be asked to make the draw for the raffle prizes at the well attended event.” Parklands, which opened in 1994, is a purpose-built school for pupils with Complex Additional Support Needs. Since then the range of provisions has been extended and the school now meets the needs of pupils from 5 to 19 years with a wide range of Additional Support Needs.
It also offers an in-reach/out-reach programme for pupils in mainstream schools to attend Parklands for specialised programmes designed to support and enrich the mainstream curriculum.
