The brainchild of Sub Lieutenant Ian McInnes, from Glasgow, the initiative saw both civilian and Service personnel proudly pay a donation to don a colourful array of Santa’s, snowmen, reindeer and christmas puddings.
Mr McInnes told the Advertiser: “I thought this was an excellent cause and something the Royal Navy and our civilian colleagues here at Faslane could easily support.
“I was delighted that so many got behind the idea, from canteen workers to Captains, and I hope the money raised goes some way towards improving Christmas for kids in the West of Scotland.”
