HELENSBURGH resident Ann Greer was at the forefront of a demonstration in Glasgow this week by campaigners calling for fair pension treatment for women born in the 1950s.

Ann took part in a march and rally organised by the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) campaign group on September 16.

The group followed the same route taken 101 years ago by women protesting at rent increases in the city.

Ann is pictured in the image above holding the 'WASPI Argyll and Bute' placard alongside MPs Mhairi Black and Margaret Ferrier at the conclusion of the march in George Square.

WASPI is campaigning for fair transitional payments for women born between 1951 and 1959, who are set to lose out due to lack of sufficient notification to make alternative provision as well as speed of the process, when equalising the state pension age for women..

The next Scottish demonstration by the campaign takes place at the Scottish Parliament on September 29. More information about the campaign can be found at www.waspi.co.uk.
