Druids Curling Club finished off the season in style with a fantastic bonspiel at Greenacres Curling Club in Howwood, Renfrewshire.
Thirty two players took part in the game with the eventual winners being the president’s rink of skip, Rosemary Robertson, third Elspeth MacLean, Sandra Cameron and Joy Murray, who later received a prize for their efforts. The runners up were Kathleen Cornwell , Joy Temple, Carol Syddall and Veronica Bell.
A magnificent Buffet lunch prepared by Greenacres staff was held following the bonspiel before the club held their prizegiving for winners throughout the season.
Brooms will be stacked until the end of the September, but in the meantime anyone thinking of taking up the game should contact Marilyn McMeeking on 07810238352 or Rosemary Robertson on 01436 821619 for more information.
For those interested the club will be holding a curling trial session in mid to late September.
Marilyn said: “I would encourage people to come along and have a try and if they like it we have a club coach for those playing from a beginner to intermediate level.”
