HELENSBURGH’S Hermitage Park re-opening has been delayed until September or October.
The delays were caused by the winter weather and drainage issues on the land where the pavilion is being built.
Progress is now being made and the concrete foundation of the building has recently been poured over the insulation layer.
The grass has also been damaged by the weather and dogs running on the grass, so some sections will remain cordoned off to allow the grass to grow.
However, the Friends of Hermitage Park said they are keen to enjoy the refurbished park.
Fiona Baker, the Chair of the friends of Hermitage Park, said: “I am sure everyone would agree it is better for the works to be completed to a high standard before it re-opens, even if it does mean waiting a wee bit longer than originally hoped.”
They assured local residents they will have soft openings when parts of the park are ready, such as the play park.
