Today's Archive Hour story is from May 2008 when a cross-country event put children through their paces.
Here's how we reported the news ten years ago this week...
******************************
FIVE local primary schools participated in the Helensburgh Cross-country relay championships at the Duchess Woods recently.
There were two age groups, primary six boys and girls and primary seven boys and girls, and each team consisted of three runners. The first runner ran the course and then tagged the second runner.
The second runner then completed the course and tagged the last runner who finished the race. The races were very competitive and all runners coped well in the fairly wet conditions. P6 boys – 1 Hermitage, 2 Rhu, 3 Lomond, 4 Kilcreggan, 5 Cardross. P6 girls – 1 Rhu, 2 Lomond, 3 Kilcreggan, 4 Hermitage, 5 Cardross.
The team shields were presented by Gordon McAllister from Helensburgh Honda.
