PEOPLE in Helensburgh are being asked to share their visions for the town at an event on Monday as part of the 'Making Places' initiative.

More than 50 people have taken part so far using the Place Standards tool to rate different elements of the town.

The project aims to create a shared vision for Helensburgh that people across the community can buy into, so that as many people as possible can make their voice heard in how Helensburgh continues to develop.

So far the team have been out on-street in town, discussing ideas for the project and finding out what local people think about their hometown.

This coming Monday, June 4, from 6-8pm at the Civic Centre, the project will be building on findings from surveys done so far and asking the public to suggest how they would approach the issues facing Helensburgh in the future – what do you want to see done and how would you do it?

The Helensburgh Making Places project is joint funded by Argyll and Bute Council and the Scottish Government. The project will be economic regeneration focussed and aims to identify opportunities to improve the attractiveness of Helensburgh as a place to live, work and invest. This will pick up on key themes identified through the Place Standard Study undertaken in 2017.

The team will be following up this event with a series of events across the town and with different groups. If you would like the team to visit your group please get in touch by emailing ross@icecreamarchitecture or phoning 0141 237 8592.
