EMERGENCY services rushed to Cardross on Saturday afternoon after a person was struck by a train.
The incident is believed to have happened at a level crossing shortly before 1pm when the person was hit by a train travelling from Glasgow to Oban.
Police, fire and ambulance personnel, including an air ambulance helicopter, were seen rushing to the village.
The casualty's injuries are not understood to have been fatal, though there is no official word on their condition.
Train services began to run through the area again shortly after 2pm, though due to trains and crews being out of position, normal services did not fully resume until around 4.30pm.
ScotRail staff were praised on social media for their reaction to the incident.
One Twitter user, Andy Arthur, tweeted @cocteautriplets: "Thanks to the @ScotRail staff on the train and at Cardross who did a great job getting people going in sweltering heat and really difficult, unforseeable circumstance. It was a tough gig and they did great."
