A ROSNEATH woman has warned people to watch out for scam phone calls after she was contacted by fraudsters.

Angel Brammer received an automated phone call supposedly from HMRC claiming they were filing a lawsuit because she was in debt.

She told the Advertiser: “It was a pre-recorded message and said I was in debt and in trouble.

“Luckily I had already seen that these are scams, so I didn’t pay any attention, but I know a lot of older people have been scammed.

“I just wanted more people to know and then no one will be caught out. Never trust anyone asking for your bank details.”

HMRC have recently warned people not to give their bank details to people and to report these phone calls, telling them the date, time and phone number.
