A video competition has been launched to give 12 children the chance to be the first to use the new play equipment in Hermitage Park in Helensburgh when it opens at the end of this month.

Youngsters must create a video, of no longer than one minute, explaining why Hermitage Park is special to them, their family and friends.

The winning entry will be invited to be the first to play in the new play area with 11 of their friends.

The closing date for entries is July 20 and the competition is open to children aged 14 and under.

to enter, send your the link to your videos via a video sharing service such as YouTube or Whatsapp and send the link to fionabakerrhu@gmail.com including your name, age and contact details.

They must also include their parent or guardians consent quoting "I …..[name] … give permission that the attached information/ video can be used for promotional means by The Friends of Hermitage Park and other partner groups (e.g. Heritage Lottery Fund)."

The videos will be judged by members of Helensburgh Play Park Association.

Once the competition has been judged all the videos will be made public on the 'Helensburgh Hermitage Park' YouTube channel, and the videos may be edited into one film and also shared on the Facebook page of the same name.
