THE Luss couple behind an award-winning craft brewery are celebrating after a crowd-funding campaign to help them expand their business smashed its target.

Fiona and Euan MacEachern set a £350,000 target for their Loch Lomond Brewery campaign on Crowdcube – and have exceeded that by almost £30,000.

The couple plan to use the investment to double the capacity and production of the brewery and buy new equipment.

Fiona, the managing director of the brewery, said: “It’s pretty amazing that we reached our target so quickly.

“Now we’re really looking forward to showing investors what we’re going to do with the business. The money means we can now look to purchase bigger and better equipment, which will in turn increase capacity, and so increase production.”

The MacEacherns hope that they’ll be able to move their operation to the planned new West Riverside development in Balloch – if the controversial proposal, which has already attracted hundreds of objections, receives planning permission.

But Fiona said the fate of the those plans wouldn’t affect the expansion of the brewery.

She added: “Whether it’s as part of the West Riverside development or not, we will have a new home for the production of our beers, because the way things are now, we’re bursting at the seams.”
