MEMBERS of the Helensburgh Garelochside Rotary Club are celebrating after being named as the best Rotary Club in the west of Scotland.
It’s the first time the club has received the accolade since it was chartered as a Rotary Club in 1981.
The award was given in recognition of the group’s fund-raising efforts on behalf of a wide range of community groups in the area.
Sheenah Nelson from Helensburgh Garelochside Rotary said: “We are all delighted to be recognised for the work we have been doing in the community, in the service that we give, and also the many groups and charities that we have been able to support locally.”
One of the club’s successful 2017 fund-raisers, a ‘board walk’ through Helensburgh’s streets, will be repeated in September.
