A SCOTTISH charity is encouraging stroke survivors in Helensburgh and Lomond to apply for a grant to help provide financial assistance.
The Stroke Association in Scotland offers ‘Life After Stroke Grants’ – a one-off payment of up to £300 to help with the funding of vital home or personal equipment such as mobility aids, kitchen appliances, specialist aids, or household furniture.
To apply for a Life After Stroke Grant, call the Stroke Association's helpline on 0303 3033 100 or email Grants.External@stroke.org.uk including your name and postcode.
You can also ask your health, social care or other professional contact to apply on your behalf. This could be an occupational therapist, health visitor or the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
The scheme cannot fund private medical treatment, labour costs (other than installation of white goods), including item removal and structural alterations, nursing home fees other than for respite care, or debts and rent arrears.
