The Helensburgh branch of Cancer Research UK has received a cash boost after fund-raising at a local event.
The store manager, Mark Cavana and the assistant manager, Alison Sturgeon, went along to a cheque presentation at La Barca last week.
Mark and Alison held a bucket collection at the John Logie Baird pub on Saturday, August 4 on behalf of the charity.
Alison explained that in previous years, they have held their bucket collection at the venue’s Halloween party, however, they decided to attend the DJ event this year.
She said: “It was really good for us to get a well-known DJ to come to do a set at the venue. We raised £407 with our collection buckets and raffle. It was tremendous and we are very pleased.
“The raffle prize was a signed T-shirt and headphones from Ian Van Dahl himself.”
Alison also thanked Cara and Milan Nikolic, owners of both La Barca and the John Logie Baird, for their ongoing support and for hosting the event.
