HELENSBURGH'S RNLI lifeboat crew rescued a dog stranded on a channel marker in the River Clyde.
The crew was on exercise when the UK Coastguard asked them to attend a report of an animal stranded on a marker opposite Dunglass Castle, Bowling at 1pm on Thursday, August 23.
The crew soon found the dog next to a navigation marker, but despite checking the area, could see no sign of anyone with the animal.
The dog was taken on board the lifeboat and handed over to Scottish SPCA personnel at Sandpoint Marina on the River Leven in Dumbarton.
