A FORMER Lomond School pupil is hoping to shed light on the life and work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh with her latest exhibition, Illuminating Letters.

Siobhan Healy, an artist who specialises in glass, brings her art to Helensburgh later this month.

The show uses a letter from Mackintosh to his wife, Margaret MacDonald, which described how she was the creative force behind their relationship as a starting point for exploring the renowned artist.

The work will be on display at the Mackintosh Club from Friday, October 19, as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of Mackintosh’s birth, and has already featured at the Lighthouse and in the Glasgow Art Club.

The exhibition will depict symbolic rare flora and fauna to tell visual stories which will be expressed in the mediums of screen prints, incorporating crystal and diamond dust.

It will also include excerpts of correspondence between Siobhan and Sir David Attenborough, giving a sense of these personal stories being transient, precious and ethereal.
