A FORMER butler-in-the-buff who attacked his lover after a friend asked to feel her breast implants has been spared jail.

John Watt, 33, blamed Amanda Reilly for his pal wanting to grope her.

He claimed she encouraged the behaviour, then kicked a pair of shoes against her leg and shoved her “full force.”

The assault came during a five-year campaign of violence and abuse against Miss Reilly, 37, and ex-partner Laura Shearer, 32.

This included holding a terrified Miss Shearer by the neck after snooping in her phone and throwing water over her as she lay in bed after a night out.

He also grabbed Miss Reilly by the hair and dragged her from a house before hurling her down a set of stairs.

Dad-of-two Watt, from Thornliebank, denied the charges when he went on trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court but a jury convicted him of assaulting Miss Shearer on various occasions between September 2010 and February 2015 during their decade-long relationship.

He was also found guilty of assaulting Miss Reilly on various occasions between August 2015 and January 2016.

In addition, Watt was convicted of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards both women.

Sheriff Paul Crozier told Watt his behaviour towards the women was “quite appalling” and said his crimes had “passed the custody threshold” but that he was satisfied he could deal with him by way of a court order.

He ordered that Watt, who now lives in Edinburgh, will be supervised for two years and carry out 300 hours of unpaid work.

A three-year non-harassment order was also granted to prevent him contacting either of his victims.

In evidence, Watt told how he used to work as a ‘butler-in-the-buff’ and would sometimes take girls he met at parties out with him.

Miss Reilly told how she met Watt at a boxing gym and thought they got together around the end of 2014.

She claimed he told her he was unhappy with Miss Shearer and the relationship was over but she wouldn’t accept it.

The witness was asked how things continued between her and Watt when they got together.

Miss Reilly said: “He became quite controlling, extremely jealous, questioning everything I did.”

During an incident at Watt’s friend’s house, Miss Reilly spoke to a couple about her breast implants.

When Watt’s pal then asked if he could feel her implants, she refused.

Miss Reilly told the court: “At that point, he said to John about it and John went crazy and blamed me and said I had incited this behaviour from his friend. I told him I didn’t and there was no way I encouraged that behaviour.”

In evidence, Miss Shearer told how she was attacked by Watt after he looked through her phone and accused her of cheating on him.
