SPELLBOUND children got into the Hallowe’en spirit at Rhu Hall last weekend with a spook-tacular family fun day.

The event, on Saturday, October 20, was free for children and their parents with plenty of exciting activities on offer including craft making and a sing-along.

But it was the story-telling of Susan Wilson, and her trusty companion Onion, which really captured the imagination of visitors and dragged their attention away from the tasty treats on offer.

Lorna Davies, Rhu Hall trustee and committee member, said: “It was well attended and creates a cosy village feel as everyone brings a dish to share.

“We had songs around the camp fire and the highlight of the night was Susan the storyteller and Onion entertaining the children with stories with an autumn and spooky theme. The children loved it.

“We were lucky enough to secure funding from the Argyll and Bute Community Fund earlier this year and our successful bid will allow us to offer three more family-friendly events. We also received kind donations which will go towards the up-keep of the hall.”
