SERVICES of remembrance will take place at churches and war memorials across Helensburgh and Lomond this Sunday, 100 years since the end of the First World War.

Details of Helensburgh's commemoration can be found here; this Sunday’s services outside Helensburgh are as follows.

Cardross: 10.45am at village war memorial.

Rhu: Wreath laying at the war memorial at 10.30am, followed by a service at Rhu and Shandon Parish Church at 10.50am.

Shandon: Wreath-laying at the war memorial at approximately 12.45pm.

Garelochhead: Piper plays at the war memorial at Garelochhead Parish Church at 6am, followed by a service and act of remembrance at the church at 10.45am.

Rosneath: Service of remembrance at St Modan’s Parish Church at 10.45am; act of remembrance at the Rosneath caravan park cairn at 2pm; Armistice centenary commemoration at the parish war memorial at 6.45pm.

Cove and Kilcreggan: Service in Craigrownie Parish Church at 9.45am, followed by a parade to the war memorial opposite Cove Burgh Hall. At 7pm the church bells will ring out for peace, followed by a reception at Cove Burgh Hall.

Arrochar: Service of remembrance at the war memorial at 11am.

Luss: Remembrance Sunday service at Luss Parish Church from 10.45-11.15am.
