Hallowe’en is always a terrifically terrifying time, in Helensburgh as much as anywhere.
And as last week’s Advertiser was being printed, the season of ghosties and ghoulies and all manner of other scary creatures on the streets of the town was hitting top gear as the town’s ‘guisers’ visited the homes of friends and neighbours, doing what used to be known as “a wee turn” in the hope of receiving a sweet treat in return.
Nowhere was the Hallowe’en spirit more in evidence than at the Colgrain home of Lucy Wright and her family, where decorations inside and out ensured a steady stream of dressed-up visitors.
And Ardencaple FC got in on the act too with a party raising £716 for club funds.
